Mercedes-AMG develops new 5.5-litre V8 engine

Mercedes AMG has developed a new 5.5-liter V8 engine with a cylinder shut-off system designed to save fuel.The new engine named M152 combines powerful eight-cylinder performance with the economical fuel consumption of a four-cylinder and is developed using advanced technology from Formula-1 racing. The new M152 engine is designed to develop 314 KW power and 540 N-m of torque under ordinary conditions, it uses 30% less fuel than the current 5.5-liter AMG V8 engine
